  • Thomas (T.J.) Bruce, INF (Long Beach, Calif/Cerritos J.C.)
    - TJ hit .312 and is 16 for 19 in stolen bases
    - He was 4th on his team in runs scored

 

  • Clay Boone, RHP (El Paso, Texas/Franklin H.S.)
    - Clay was 6-2 with 81 Ks in 51 innings in 2002

 

  • Evan Shahak, C/OF (Arcadia, Calif./Glendale Junior College)
    - Evan hit .380 with 15 HRs and 51 RBI as a freshman in 2001
    - In 2002 Evan hit .333 with 13 HR and 53 RBI
    - He was named as the catcher to the 2002 All Western State Conference South team

 

  • Andy Martin, LHP (San Diego, Calif/Grossmont College)
    - Andy was a 49th round draft pick of the Devil Rays in the 2000 MLB draft
    - In 2002 Andy was 5-2 with a 3.07 ERA. In 73 innings he allowed 65 hits while walking 32 and whiffing 66
    - His  3.07 ERA was good for 2nd in his league

 

  • Gregg Lindsey, INF/OF (Pampa, Texas/Howard Junior College)
    - Through 49 games in 2002, Gregg was hitting .409 with 11 HRs and 65 RBI

 

  • Jamaal Hamilton, LHP (Lubbock, Texas/Monterey H.S.)
    ******* Jamaal signed a professional contract with the Dodgers*******
    - Jamaal was 13-3 with 4 saves, a 1.48 ERA, and 134 Ks as junior at Monterey HS in 2001
    - Jamaal made the Texas 5A all-state team in 2002

    - Josh finished the 2002 season with a .392 batting average, 13 HRs, 59 RBI
    - He led the team in slugging percentage (.773), on-base percentage (.500), runs scored (69) and walks (35)

    ******* Greg signed a professional contract with the Royals*******
    - Greg started against Tech and lost on Fenruary 25, 2001
    - In 2002 Greg was 10-0 with a 2.06 ERA through 78 innings
    - He allowed only 58 hits while fanning 105 with only 27 walks
    - Greg was a 10th round pick of the Royals in the 2002 MLB draft

 

  • Omar Bramasco, INF (Huntington Park, Calif./Long Beach C.C.)
    ******* Omar signed a professional contract with the Phillies*******
    - Omar hit .287 with 6 HRs and 37 RBI. He stole 14 bases in 16 attempts
    - He was a 16th round pick of the Phillies in the 2002 MLB draft
    - He was named as an infielder to the 2002 All South Coast Conference Team

 

  • Christian Colonel, INF (American Falls, Idaho/C. Southern Idaho)
    - Christian hit .324 with 46 runs scored, 23 RBI, 35 walks, a .440 on base %, and 21 SBs as a frosh in 2001
    - In 2002 he hit .390 with 9 HRs, 50 RBI and 15 SBs in 16 attempts 
    - He led his team in BA, slugging %, runs, hits, RBI., HRs and SBs

  • Chris Hansen, INF/RHP (Las Vegas, Nev./C.C of Southern Nevada)
    - Chris was 5-3 with 3 saves and a 3.38 ERA in 2002
    - In 37 innings he struck out 42, walked 15 and allowed only 22 hits
    - He also hit .240 with a homer and 16 RBI

 

  • Doug Beck, INF (Denver, CO/Lamar J.C.)
    - Doug is hitting .380 with 17 HRs and 60 RBI in 2002
    - Doug's team finished 4th in the NJCAA World Series

 

  • Corey Gerstner, RHP (Burkburnett, Texas/North Central J.C.)
    - Corey went 7-4 with a 2.67 ERA as a frosh in 2001 for the National Champion Lions

 

  • Joel Flores, LHP (Lubbock, Texas/Clarendon College)

 

  • Aaron Jones RHP (Torrance, Calif./El Camino J.C.)
    - Aaron led his team in wins (6), innings pitched (86), starts (12) and strikeouts (64)
    - He finished with a 3.65 ERA
    - He was named as a pitcher to the 2002 All South Coast Conference team

 

  • Juan Razo RHP (San Diego, Calif./San Diego C. College)
    - Juan was a 37th round pick of the White Sox in the 2001 MLB draft
    - He was the Pacific Coast Conference Player of the Week for March 3, 2002
    - Juan had a 7-4 record with a 3.79 ERA. In 102 innings he whiffed 137 while allowing 98 hits and walking 38
    - His 3.79 was 4th in his league
    - Juan also hit .307 in 101 ABs
    - He was named as a pitcher to the 2002 All Pacific Coast Conference team

 

  • Jeff Karstens RHP (San Diego, Calif/Grossmont College)
    - Jeff finished 9-2 with a 2.69 ERA in 110 innings. He allowed 105 hits with 91 Ks, and only 28 walks. 
    - He was the Pacific Coast Conference Player of the Week for April 1, 2002
    - His 2.69 ERA led his league
    - He was named as a pitcher to the 2002 All Pacific Coast Conference team

 

  • James Gripp OF (Midland, TX./Midland HS)
    - James hit .477 with 3HRs and 29 RBI as a senior in 2002
    - In 2001 James started in the 5A state champion Bulldogs OF and was a teammate of Madison Edwards

 

  • Cooper Fouts C (Las Vegas, Nev./C.C of Southern Nevada)
    - Cooper was a 36th round pick of the A's in the 2001 draft
    - He  signed with Auburn out of HS in 2001 but opted to stay home for his frosh year
    - He finshed with a .324 BA (4th on his team) with a homer and 21 RBI in 2002
    - His OBP was 435 (3rd on his team)
    - He made only 5 errors and threw out 16 of 58 base stealers

 

  • Aaron Albus RHP/INF (Baytown, TX/Ranger College)
    - Aaron hit .425 with 6 HRs, while adding a 4-4 record on the mound
    - Aaron also played quarterback at Ranger

 

  • Brock Johns RHP (Andrews, TX/Andrews HS)
    - In 2002 Brock went 14-2 with a 1.11 ERA and 138 Ks in 94 innings
    - He twirled 3 no-hitters in 2002 and was named All South Plains pitcher of the year by the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal
    - Brock made the Texas 4A all-state team in 2002 

 

  • Randy Gattis RHP (Mesquite, TX/Mesquite HS)
    - Randy was the 39th round pick of the Yankees in the 2002 MLB draft

 

  • Jason Pasma 1B (Sioux Falls, SD/Fresno CC)
    - Jason hit .389 with 6HRs and 58RBI
    - He led his team in batting average, doubles (24), RBI (58), and slugging % (685)
    - He was the Central Valley Conference MVP and named All-American in 2002

    - Clint hit .364 and led his team in runs scored (51) and SBs (15 for 18)
    - He was named as an infielder to the 2002 All Central Valley Conference team

 

  • Sean Alexander OF (Bakersfield, CA/Bakersfield CC)
    - Sean hit .362 and stole 27 bases, with a 444 OBP
    - He was named as an outfielder to the 2002 All Western State Conference South team

 

  • Joseph Llanas LHP (Lubbock, TX/Midland JC)
    - Joseph finished 2002 at10-2 with a 2.23 ERA
    - He allowed 69 hits with 24 walks and 87 strikeouts in 84 innings
    - He had three shutouts and recorded a save
    - He led his team in starts, ERA, wins, shutouts and Ks 

 

  • Steven Thomas RHP (Kingwood, TX/Panola College)
    - Steve was 6-4 with a 2.82 ERA in 2002
    - In 89 innings he allowed 85 hits and 24 walks with 65 strikeouts
    - He also had six complete games and two saves
    - He led his team in games, wins, innings, Ks, complete games and saves

 

  • Chris Mendonsa SS (San Diego CC)
    - Chris hit .390 with 5 HR and 29 RBI. He was 15 for 15 in SBs and had an OBP of .425
    - He was named as an infielder to the 2002 All Pacific Coast Conference team
