The Hecklers and OSU coach Tom Holliday have reached a peace concord the likes of which hasn't been seen since Panmujom and the Treaty of Versailles. Through work with an intermediary both parties have come to understand each other a little better. We appreciate Coach Holliday's dedication to his ballclub and to college baseball. We now turn our attention to this guy (click here). Through reading this story and the other two in this series, we are able to rule out Mark Johnson (or at least his staff), Tim Jamison, Larry Cochell, Steve Smith, Lyle Smith and obviously Coach Hays. That leaves Tom Holliday, Augie Garrido, Mike Clark, Dave Van Horn and Bobby Randall. Let's visit those one by one.... Augie Garrido - Had Augie Garrido said those things about our crowd it would represent one of the all-time great instances of the pot calling the kettle black. We just don't think that happened in this case. He's been around college baseball way too long to worry about a group of fans. Besides Frank works down there and we would like to think he has an appreciation for us. Tom Holliday - We specifically asked our intermediaryand we've been told that Tom Holliday did not say these things. Dave Van Horn - At the time of this interview, Coach Van Horn had coached all of 5 innings in Lubbock against Texas Tech, at least in the modern era (he was an assistant at Arkansas back in the mid 80s). We don't see why he would have anything to say of this nature. Mike Clark - We don't see why he would have any reason to say these things about us. After all, last year the TTU-KSU series was played on a Saturday during terrible weather and on a Sunday doubleheader that started at 9:55am. The crowds weren't that big and the games weren't that memorable. Besides, Mrs. Weishaar was up there getting her picture taken with us. Who does that leave......????? Disclaimer - Of course, this is all just conjecture on our part. The only people who really know are the guy who said it and the writer of the articles who won't tell us anything. |
