First Pitch Luncheon tickets on sale

The fifth annual First Pitch Luncheon benefiting the Texas Tech baseball and softball programs is scheduled for 11 a.m. Jan. 25 at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center.

Tables of eight are currently on sale for $200 for a regular table and $250 for premium tables. Any individual tickets left over will go on sale Monday, January 16. Also on tap once again is a silent auction featuring items from Texas Tech players in the major leagues, Hall of Fame players and memorabilia from other baseball greats.

In addition to the baseball and softball programs, proceeds from this year's luncheon will also go to the Kal Segrist scholarship fund. In past years the luncheon and silent auction have raised more than $40,000 for the respective programs.

Members of the Texas Rangers organization again are scheduled to be present. Those include former catcher Jim Sundberg and current relief pitcher Brian Shouse.

Doors will open at 11 a.m. Auction bidding will begin immediately. Bidding will end no later than 12:45.
